Go Green for Organ Transplants
Organ transplantation is one of the most incredible successes in the history of modern medicine, offering recipients a chance at healthy, productive lives. However, despite incredible advances, organ transplantation faces a major obstacle: the demand for organs drastically exceeds the number of organ donors. Over 28,000 organ transplants were conducted in 2005, but nearly 100,000 people still need life-saving organ transplants, a number that’s growing by the minute.
The founding members of Team Green have been personally touched by the miracles surrounding organ transplantation, and strive to offer hope and help in the form of education, guidance, support, and fundraising. Team Green visionary, Peter Kite, is especially driven to increase transplant awareness and promote donor education through a variety of events.
