The Inspiration to Ride
Raising money to aid in organ transplant issues is a noble endeavor, but why bicycle riding? Before and after his double kidney transplants, Team Green founder Peter Kite had gained weight. Determined to return to a healthy weight, Peter joined Weight Watchers and began riding a stationary bike.
During these rides, Peter contemplated life and was inspired to help others facing the same difficulties he had. And what better way to do it than his favorite activity. Since Peter has never been inclined to think small, the idea for a ride across the U.S. was born.
Peter likes to say, "I know I can't save the world. I'm just trying to make a difference."
